Solar energy is conceptually a great idea - and solar thermal  technologies had an impressive flurry of success 30 years ago.  Those successes were cut short when oil prices jumped from $4 to $35 the back to $6 per barrel - a history, I fear, that may be about to repeat itself.</description>
